Book 11 Of The Year

When I tell you I ran to message Caitlin about a sequel I mean it. The way this book ended left me stunned, stunned! This has to be in my top 5 arc books that I have read so far this year, you can't help but fall in love with it. I have got a love hate relationship with the ending, it left me (to put it lightly) a broken mess...

Straight away at the beginning of the book we find the beautiful map of the world that Caitlin has created, trigger warnings (Which I love as you can prepare yourself for what is to come) and the pronunciations of some characters names and place names. The dedication for this book I think is something so simple but also quite powerful. "To the readers who keep their hearts in cages - don't throw away the key." (I am a said person who keeps my heart locked up safe).

I love how Caitlin describes and builds up her characters throughout the book. How their stories develop and change as the pages go on. My characters are as follows Warren, Alden, Elodae and Irelia but mostly Warren, I adore that man and feel like we all need a Warren in our lives. We all love it when we get chapters from different points of view, for me it helps me to learn more about the characters, as well as their thoughts, backstories and views because as we can see we are literally in their shoes. By far my favourite chapters are 27 and 35, without spoiling it they will steal your heart, make it grow and then leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

The imagery that Caitlin creates is genius, we all know that feeling as if you are a part of the book is my favourite part of reading well I am most defiantly a part of this novel. You can feel, see, smell, hear and taste so much as you read this book. It really is a feast for your senses.

I would highly recommend this book, it is fantastical, mysterious, romantic and so much more! I honestly can't wait to see what Caitlin has up her sleeves for Elodae.
