The Night Circus by Erin Morgernstern

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Book: The Night Circus

Author: Erin Mogernstern

Publication Date: 13th September 2011

There are two words that are the best to describe this book...Mind and Blown!

From the very start you are plunged in the magical world of Le Cirque des Reves. Twists and turns meet you at every turn of the page, making this a epic ride that will leave you re-reading certain sentences. The mystery, the romance, the genius game that is played throughout this book will leave you breathless and floating on a cloud. Some things will shock you, some will warm you and some will leave you thinking "What just happened?".

The joy of this book is that it can be read and read and read, every year for the past five years I have read this book and let me tell you I never tire of it. Every time I read it it is like I am reading it for the first time all over again. My copy as you can see is quite worn, I am on the hunt for a hardback version. I have been admiring Books Illustrated's hardback version of this book which is exquisite. It is beautiful, letter stamped, hardback, illustrated with ink and watercolour images by the truly gifted Anne Yvonne Gilbert which I will admit I am hoping will take pride of place on my bookcase. But we will see for who ever knows, someone may just come across my path and magic it into my hands (One can wish). With Erin's words and Anne's illustrations the world I adore really does come to life before my eyes.

Don't walk run down to your local bookshop/website and order this book, then you too can indulge your senses with popcorn and toffee apples. A penny of advice, make sure you keep an eye on the date and location at the start of a new chapter, if like me you didn't notice it first you will be slightly confused...like I was.

Trigger Warnings: Child Abuse, Suicide, Blood, Death of Parent, Animal Death.

Happy Reading!
