What can I say other than I am hooked? This beautifully sweet novel will have its sugar canes wrapped around you in no time. From the start you are thrown straight into this world of sugar, spice and all things murderously nice.
Set in Nottingham 1908, this story follows Marietta, a young ballerina who is dreaming of playing Aurora in her ballet performance which is her at the home of herself, her older brother and her parents. Marietta’s father has told her that this will be her last performance after that she is to marry. Intrigued with a new neighbour the family invite this strange mystery man to tea and this is where things turn from sweet to sour.
M.A.Kuzniar has created a magical world fill of sweet details and ballet slippers. This is a tale of friendship, slight romance, possession, determination and so much more… Everything you hope this amazing
author will include in a sequel if she graces us with one that is (fingers crossed). I adore Nutcrackers and the magical Christmas tale of the Nutcracker so when this arrived through the letterbox I was beyond excited! That only grew more when I saw a sticker on this beautiful hardback which read ‘Signed by the Author’. I Hadn’t realised
when I ordered this hardback that it was signed also.
With this book all of you senses will take flight with the fantastical pages which live within. You will smell the sweet treats, taste the sugar and feel the ice cold bite of the snow through your ballet slippers. Would you delve deeper into the forest of Everwood and dance the night away under the stars in the palace ballroom? Maybe encounter a Nutcracker yourself or a Sugar Plum Fairy?
Trigger Warnings: Stalking, Confinement, Kidnapping, Emotional Abuse, Gaslighting, Physical Abuse, Sexism, Torture, Injury Detail, Murder and Sexual Content. From a personal experience I would advice this book be best for those 15 and above unless very mature due to the triggers within the book.
Happy Reading!
