I love this book...It is a gorgeous way to end the series, each of the Bridgerton siblings get to have a second epilogues. But not only do we get to see our favourite siblings once more we also get to see a young Violet in her little novella.
At the beginning of each epilogues Julia Quinn gives a little detail to remind the audience what has happened in the book when we left it and I think this is such a nice way to start of the little stories for each of the siblings. Lets get a little run down of things shall we?
Daphne - Aged 41 and finds she is pregnant again, Simon decides to open letters sent to him by his father. I found this one quite interesting but not much happens.
Antony - Pall Mall and the Mallet of Death...that is all. If you know, you know; I did love this little scene and the joy that Antony and Kate have out on the Pall Mall battlefield.
Benedict - Follows Posy Reiling (Sophie's step-sister) and her journey to her own happily ever after. Includes love at first sight and a set up! A very fun and light-hearted little tale.
Colin - We find out the details! How Eloise came to find out about Penelope Featherington being the legendary Lady Whistledown. To be honest, we kind of see how Eloise reacts in the season finale of season two of Bridgerton on Netflix which I thought was quite disappointing. I liked how this epilogue was and wish they hadn't have changed it.
Eloise - This one interestingly isn't in the point of view of our fiery Eloise Bridgerton but with her step-daughter Amanda and how she finds her own love. This is a very sweet epilogue as we get to see Phillip and Eloise through her eyes.
Francesca - All the way through the book I wondered whether Francesca would have a child biologically or not, I did kind of wish she would have adopted which wasn't very common in the era this book is written. In this scene she has a conversation with her mother Mrs Violet Bridgerton and it is the most heart-warming thing in the entire series. Definitely one for you to read!
Hyacinth - Again set in a different point of view, this time through the eyes of Hyacinth's daughter. Now this cheeky lady had found the diamonds that her mother and father were desperately looked for (and still looking for in Hyacinth's case) and not only does she find them but she puts them back and doesn't tell her parents! The cheeky little thing, can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I was in her position. It was a fun one to read and I am very glad that I now know the answer to the mystery of the missing diamonds!
Gregory - So in this tale Lucy has just given birth to her ninth...yes you read that right ninth child. I loved how Quinn included Hyacinth in this epilogue, it goes to show how close the Bridgerton siblings are. In this epilogue we learn the names of all their children, but have they named them alphabetically? I loved this tale and thought it was very sweet.
Violet in Bloom - Now this one came as a surprise to me, I didn't realise that Quinn would include Violet Bridgerton in this book but I am very glad that she has. Classed as a novella this is the final layer on the cake and finishes the series off beautifully in my opinion; it is lovely that we get an insight into Violet and how she developed as a character through out her children's books.
To round off this blog I think it is fair to say that this series is one of my favourites, all of the twists, balls and gunfire just adds to an era that I adore already. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Happy Reading!
