Book 18 Of The Year

I have had the absolute pleasure of reading this as a arc reader and a beta reader. Yep, you read that right. S sent me a direct messaged on Instagram and asked if I wanted to beta read her upcoming novel. My response was "Yeah, I'll give it a go but I might mess it up" (I am confident as always) I am so glad I said yes because it is my favourite this year. So enough about me lets go back to this magnificent novel...

To start I love the prologue, it really sets the mood of the story and enlightens the reader enough but not too much about what is to come in this novel. One of my favourite things about S. Frasher's books are her worldbuilding, she is phenomenal. I have been an arc reader twice for her, have read more of her books and it is something that is consistent in all of her novels. You feel as if you are a part of the story, a character in the world she is creating and I adore that!

A biggie for me is always descriptions, not just in worldbuilding but also characters and how they are described. I love how S has described the characters not just in this book but all of her books, her characters become that real you could almost touch them. The mythical creatures included in this book are like nothing I've read before, there is a certain scene in this book where there are creatures I haven't heard of before. There are certain characters in this book that I absolutely adore, you just can't help it but love them and want to protect them at all cost.

Now I won't spoil this book for you but if you are lover of forbidden romance, prophecy's, grumpy x sunshine, Hunger Games, fantasy, romance, shocks, twists and turns at every turn this book is for you. I had this book open on one side of my laptop and my beta notes on the other, as I continued to read this novel my notes got more and more chaotic. I quickly messaged S to apologise and give a warning for my crazy notes. Honestly at one point there was so much happening I had to read certain chapters more than once to let sink in what had happened.

Would I be a beta reader again? Hell yeah...I'll just have to practice not writing hectic notes and remember to chill out a little.

If you are planning on reading this book you need to hold on tight ready for a log flume of a ride!

P.s If you have ordered this book check the acknowledgements when you get it, you'll find me there (@littlebookkeeper on Instagram), don't believe me? You'll just have to buy it, check and see for yourself.
