Super short, sweet and a little bit festive (Ha, this book is me in a nutshell!). This novella is one that warms you up like a cup of hot chocolate from the inside out on a cold frosty morning. I think this is a Christmassy kind of story and also a bitter sweet goodbye to Feyre and Rhysand...oh you will see them again in A Court of Silver Flames but in a different way so don't worry too much.
This is an easy read at just 233 pages, an hour or two and it has been read (for me anyway), it is one of those mini novels that you can't put down. This is a slight stand-alone book jso you don't have to read this if you don't want to it just might help slightly when reading A Court of Silver Flames (ACOSF). We get to see the story from all our favourite characters points of view, Feyre, Rhysand, Mor, Az, Nesta and even Cassian (he is my favourite of the Bat Boys). We find our favourite Inner Circle characters decorating and getting ready for the Winter Solstice which falls on the same day as Feyre's birthday and as you can imagine that is one little detail that Rhysand doesn't forget. The Bat Boys in all their glory have their annual traditions which one Feyre gets Rhys kicked out of (whoops) that is rather funny. Nesta surprisingly turns up for the festivities which she earlier in the novella refused to go to. Elain is seen to be improving everyday which we see more of in ACOSF, there are also some sweet moments with Azriel which make my heart burst. I think what I love the most about this novella is that it is like what me and my family do on Christmas day, we eat, exchange presents and enjoy each others company in our home that is decorated for the festive season.
I don't want to say much more about this book as it speaks for itself quiet nicely. It also highlights where Sarah J.Maas may take her books after ACOSF...although nothing has been confirmed just yet, we can live in hope!!
